Finally we are getting some warm spring days. The winter was like a temperature roller coaster. October was cold, November warm, December cold, January warm, February cold. Lets hope this cycle breaks in April through the summer and fall. We had a day that reached the mid 60’s and it felt great. Chris was in the mood for fish tacos so it was my job to pair a white wine. She usually makes the sauce a little spicy so I had to consider that too. The right choice for the meal was the 2013 L’Ecole No.41 Semillon.
Sight
Pale color depth with an amber hue.
Smell
Moderate young-fruity aromas of pear, apple and other citrus fruits.
Taste
Dry, medium-bodied with balanced acidity. Crisp mid-palate flavors with a lingering soft finish.
abv: 14.5%
How much: $14.00 Great price for the wine. A real deal.
Region/Appellation: Columbia Valley Washington State.
Blend: 87% Semillon and 13% Sauvignon Blanc.
I rated the 2013 L’Ecole No.41 Semillon three glasses. The Semillon white wine was a perfect match for our fish tacos.
Life is too short to drink crappy wine. Expand your palate and keep trying.
