I have had good success educating novice wine enthusiasts with the UC Davis 20 point scale which can be downloaded Nobody can tell you whether you will like a wine so that makes you your own best wine critic. Don’t be intimidated. Explore, and find what you like…just get away from the Two Buck Chuck…at least once a week. Just moving up to the $10-20 range, now that fastest growing segment can do wonders for taste and quality. Happy tasting and drinking…remember wine is a socializing vehicle and meant to be enjoyed with others.
