She’s a wife, a mom, a business woman, and a friend who loves to cook tasty food!

I’ve always enjoyed hosting, cooking and being in the kitchen.  I am passionate about food!  Years ago I was a cake decorator by trade and though I miss the hobby of it, I do not miss the early hours and working weekends!  I wasn’t formally trained as a Chef, though culinary schooling is something I have been thinking about attending in my spare time.  While I was a senior in high school, I attended the local vocational college half days in a commercial cooking and baking course.  I absolutely loved it and never lost the passion to be in the kitchen!  I learn a lot and can’t get too much viewing of various programs on the Food Network channel!

As the youngest sibling of six, I grew up with plenty of food in my life.  Our mom cooked and prepared dinner for the family nightly and when we weren’t eating at home, our folks treated us out to nice restaurants encouraging us to try all types of food.  We always had garden and were introduced to a variety of fresh foods of all types.  We all participated in weeding gardens and canning vegetables and always had home-grown chickens with farm fresh eggs.  We ate fresh beef and pork and were taught to appreciate a variety of cuisines.

I enjoyed being in the kitchen even at a young age preparing salads, and would complete other various tasks that mom would assign.  Over the years, I’ve served tables and really found a true appreciation for quality food and exceptional service.

Bill and I were married in 1986 and have raised three terrific children; Nicholas, Michelle and Andrew.  We are truly enjoying one another again without too many interruptions.  We thoroughly enjoy spending time with our growing family and though we both still work, we are blessed with flexibility and are planning for retirement.

My home style of cooking is pretty simple.  The dishes that I create are usually put together with ingredients that I have on hand in the fridge or the pantry.  If I’m creating a dish using unfamiliar ingredients, I will take the time to investigate it and then make delicious, healthy food.   I enjoy transforming left overs into something satisfying and don’t like to see things go to waste.  I believe in using “real” ingredients because I believe that all things are OK in moderation.

I look forward to many years of sharing my kitchen and bumping elbows with whoever wants to participate!

Cheers!
