Valentines weekend we were lucky to be able to spend it in Napa. We spent Friday night with friends who were attending an open house for a new winery in Calistoga. The wineries tasting room opened in the old bank on main street. The tasting room was very open and nice. They served us many appetizers and poured their current releases. All of the wines were tasty and the prices are pretty affordable. We decided to purchase a Sauvignon Blanc and the Cabernet.
Sight
Thin color depth with a greenish hue.
Smell
Moderate, young-fruity aromas of tropical fruit with a hint of grapefruit.
Taste
Dry, light-bodied with lively acids. Silky soft mid-palate flavors with a medium lengthened finish.
abv: 14.5%
How much: $25.00
Appellation/region: California Sonoma City.
If you are in Calistoga please look them up and stop by a tasting. I rated the 2013 Huge Bear Wine Sauvignon Blanc three glasses.
Life is too short to drink crappy wine. Expand your palate and keep trying.
