It was the final night of the 2015 Bachelorette. Chris had many of her girls coming over so there would be lots to eat and wine to try. I decided to share a bottle of 2012 Bookcliff Vineyards Reserve Syrah. Once the food was ready I filled my plate, wine glass with Reserve Syrah and off to watch the third episode of the History Channels Vikings. The Vikings TV series is on its third season. This season has not been a disappointment.
Sight
Medium color depth with a clear purple hue.
Smell
Moderate young-fruity aromas of milk chocolate, sweet cherry and spice.
Taste
Dry, medium-bodied with balanced acidity. Tannins were soft and weak. Soft mid-palate flavors with a lingering finish. It was easy drinking.
abv: 13.8%
How much: $24.99
Region/Appellation: Grand Valley Colorado
Total production is 70 cases.
I found the wine continued to develop as the night progressed. I rated the 2012 Bookcliff Vineyards Reserve Syrah three glasses.
Life is too short to drink crappy wine. Expand your palate and keep trying.
