Product was provided for free however the review is my honest opinion.
The 2011 Chateau De Jau the second bottle of three that I received from the Wine Chateau. So far I am very pleased with both bottles and look forward to trying the final bottle.
Sight
Medium color depth with a ruby hue.
Smell
Slightly aromatic, middle-aged with aromas of spice, dark fruit and some minerality.
Taste
Dry, medium-bodied with lively acids. Slightly astringent tannins. Soft mid-palate flavors with a lingering finish.
abv: 13.0%
How much: $13.97. A real bargain for this wine.
Appellation/Region: France, Cotes Du Roussillon Villages
Wine composition: 45% Syrah, 30% Mourvedre, 15% Carignan, 10% Grenache.
Chris and I paired the 2011 Chateau De Jau with chicken fajita’s. For most people I would serve the red wine with food. For me I liked it without food.
I rated the 2011 Chateau De Jau four glasses. A decent bottle of wine from France at this price can’t be beat.
Life is too short to drink crappy wine. Expand your palate and keep trying.
