I constantly search for good South African wines. Recently I had tried and blogged about the 2007 Grand Plaisir Red Wine. I enjoyed that wine so I assumed I would enjoy the 2008 Plaisir de Merle Cabernet Sauvignon just as much. Unfortunately, I was left underwhelmed wanting more from the bottle. With that said I will keep trying wines from South Africa. As one kid said we cannot be A+ students all of the time.
Sight

Moderate aromas of red fruit, oak, and smoke.

I rated the 2008 Plaisir de Merle Cabernet Sauvignon two glasses. I felt slightly underwhelmed with the Cabernet from South Africa. Recently writing about the 2007 Grand Plaisir Red Wine, I had higher expectations with this one. I’m not giving up on South Africa wines. As I say keep saying…
Life is too short to drink crappy wine. Expand your palate and keep trying.
