The B Cellars Rose’ was the third of three wines I was to sample and evaluate prior to an event hosted by CellarPassTV. I tasted and evaluated each bottle a day or so prior to the event so that I would be more objective. Although trying all three wines at the same time can work, one would really need to spit; as to not become tipsy. It could be challenging to conduct an honest evaluation and to be objective.
Sight
Pale color depth and a salmon hue.
Smell
Moderate aromas with a young-fruity development. I could smell strawberry, melon, and rhubarb.
Taste
The Rose was dry, medium-bodied and slightly tart. It was flavorful on my mid-palate with a long finish. Because of its slightly tart acidity I think it would be better served with food.
abv: 14.4%
How much: $26 on the B Cellars website.
Region/Appellation: Napa
Blend: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah. On 80 cases produced.
I rated the 2013 B Cellars Rose’ Three glasses. The Rose’ would drink perfectly on a hot summer day on our boat.
Life is too short to drink crappy wine!
