I spent Sunday with my daughter Michelle who was helping me setup a Wine Making forum to host my fellow UC Davis winemaker students. Besides my co-students, I hope this forum will expand to other students of wine and grape growing.
I needed some inspiration for my new wine making forum. Chris and Michelle decided to have a bloody beer so I grabbed a bottle of 2010 pureCru Chardonnay.
Sight
Medium color depth with an amber gold hue.
Smell
Very aromatic, youthful-fruity with aromas of peach, pear, apple, and creamy notes.
Taste
Dry, medium-bodied, and just so slightly tart. The tannins were soft. Tasting the Chardonnay I had bright crisp mid-palate flavors with a medium length finish.
abv: 14.6%
How much: $32.00
Region/Appellation: Napa Valley
I rated the 2010 purCru Winery Chardonnay three glasses. I find this Chardonnay is almost the same exact style as the 2010 Cosentino winery. I would guess Mitch had his hands in the Cosentino Chardonnay too.
Life is too short to drink crappy wine. Expand your palate and keep trying.
