2007 Beringer Vineyards Bancroft Ranch Merlot

4g

Chris and I attended the 12th annual Beringer Valentines Day Dinner.  The dinner hosted seventy couples served by some really great wine and food.  Once of the wines served was the 2012 Bancroft Ranch Merlot.  We were poured the 2010 Private Reserve along with the Merlot.  The Merlot was drinking perfect while the Reserve was good too, I feel it needed a few more years or decanted.

The last Bancroft Ranch Merlot vintage Beringer fermented and bottled was 2007.  The winemaker Lauri Cook did not feel the fruit in the previous vintages held up to the quality of Beringer.

I rated the 2007 Beringer Vineyards Bancroft Ranch Merlot four glasses.  I have three additional bottles in my cellar and plan on holding them to see how the wine progresses.

Life is too short to drink crappy wine!  Expand your palate and keep trying.
