2006 Beringer Quarry Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

3smaller

We were heading to Austin Texas to see our friends Cynthia and Dan.  It was going to be a long weekend and I was looking forward to seeing another friend Pat, who I had not seen for many years.

We decided to pack Friday morning since it was going to be a short trip and there wasn’t a lot to pack.  We planned to check our bag because I was going to bring a few bottles of wine.  The Thursday afternoon prior, I had completed all of my meetings and was done with my work day when I decided to pull a the cork on 2006 Beringer Quarry Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon to start the weekend!

Here are my tasting notes.

Sight
Medium color depth with a nice garnet hue.  The wine was very clear.

Smell
Very aromatic and still smelling young.  I could smell ripe red fruit and spice.

Taste
The wine was dry and full bodied while the acidity was good (not tart or flabby).  The tannins were medium and soft and it was very flavorful.  I could taste red cherry and vanilla.  The finish was long.

We rated the 2006 Quarry Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon three glasses.

abv: 14.3%

How much:  Last summer Carlos had a six pack deal for $300.  So the per bottle cost was $50.
