Unique: From the moment you walk up the walkway into Redstone, you begin to smell the real wood burning for the rotisserie.

As we entered,  we were greeted at the door by a friendly hostess.  Bill and I first ate here for a casual weekend lunch and I suggested it several weeks later for a fun lunch with some girlfriends.  This isn’t the most expensive place to dine, but be prepared to bring your wallet.  The entry is filled with padded benches that I suspect from reading reviews are convenient when they are busy.  Once inside we passed a beautiful fireplace before entering the bar area.  Bill and I chose to eat indoors and the ambiance made our lunch feel “special”.  As we sipped on a refreshing glass of white wine, the lighting was soft and had a romantic feeling.  We thought they did a great job on the remodel and the craftsmanship of the dark woods is quite attractive; even the bathrooms were beautiful and very clean!  I commented to Bill that it’s rare that the automatic faucets actually spew hot water, as it’s usually cold!  I particularly enjoyed the open kitchen feel.  They feature a wood-burning grill, rotisserie and an open exhibition kitchen where our they offer steaks, chops, chicken and they claim to serve the freshest seafood available.  Where I was seated, I could see a very organized serving staff work in unison with the expediter and kitchen staff.  The music was soft and our server very knowledgeable and friendly.  When I visited again along with the gals, we opted to take advantage of the outdoor patio and seating area.  We liked the fun feeling outdoor area so you have a variety of options regardless the occasion.  We enjoyed sharing appetizers and beer while our server outside was outgoing and paid attention to detail.

When Bill and I dined, we split We started off with:  beet & goat cheese salad – sliced beets, goat cheese, arugula, toasted almonds & orange vinaigrette ($13)

This was a great salad.  The heirloom beets were roasted perfectly and the arugula was dressed with just the right amount of a a tangy vinaigrette.  There was a generous amount of creamy goat cheese, and the nuts added great crunch.

Entree:  We split a Rotisserie Turkey Club Sandwich that I believe was on special – house cooked turkey, hearty bacon, lettuce,
tomato and cheese served on multi-grain bread ($13)

The sandwich was hearty and flavorful.  It was moist and the bread had just the right amount of crunch.  They did a terrific job splitting our entree before delivering it to the table, dividing the coleslaw and serving them within small cast iron dishes.

With the salad starter, this was just enough food for the two of us.  I don’t recall which sauvignon blanc we chose that day, but it ran around $8 or $10 a glass.

When I had a fun lunch with the girlfriends, We started off with: Seared Ahi Tuna – sesame seed and black pepper crusted sushi grade tuna, Asian slaw, wasabi and soy-lime sauce (served rare and chilled) ($16)

A generous portion, which we were able to share among the three of us with a couple slices each.  The Aisian slaw was flavorful and crispy and the tuna very fresh.  The dish was served with chop sticks and we enjoyed the soy-lime sauce, fresh ginger and wasabi.

Nest, we shared the Jerk Chicken Fondue – spicy, grilled, jerk-marinated chicken, sourdough croutons, apples, grapes and smoked gouda fondue ($13.50)  We ordered additional bread croutons for an additional ($3).

This came nice and hot.  It was breezy outside, so the server warned us that there wasn’t much of a chance the candle would remain lit.  The fondu was a nice creamy texture with a hint of smoke.  The croutons were perfectly crisp on the outside with a soft center.  Both the apples and the grapes were a nice bright compliment to the richness of the cheese sauce.

We also shared a Rotisserie Chicken Flatbread – original flatbread with rotisserie chicken, wild mushrooms and truffle oil ($13)

Served on an attractive pedestal platter, the crust was thin and crispy topped with the perfect amount of toppings.  There was a hint of truffle oil and paired well with the fresh mushrooms and tomatoes.  We always appreciate fresh herbs and this was delicious.

We noticed that another guest accidentally bumped a freshly delivered flat bread pizza off of their table and the staff promptly cleaned it up and delivered a replacement without any question.

Some of the other items we spotted being delivered to the adjacent table included Lodge Cornbread with maple butter ($9.50)

Cornbread

the Buffalo Jumbo Shrimp with Buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing ($16)

shrimp

the Redstone Burger – cheddar, applewood smoked bacon and barbecue sauce ($13)

burger

Dessert:  We opted out.  We had plenty even after sharing with our beers!  We did see some delivered to other tables that looked worth every bite!

Over all, we enjoyed our visits and believe it’s a warm welcome to the neighborhood.  We’ll be back!

Bon appetit!
~Chris
