2014 Chateau D’aqueria Rose’

3g

Summer time is rose’ time for Chris and I.  We like to try a variety of rose’ so we usually visit our local Costco in Maple Grove.  The Maple Grove Costco has a really great wine selection.  Much more than the local Costco by our house.  I sometimes contemplate why and I think it is just the geography.  Maple Grove is the place to live now.  So there are a lot of young couples moving in.

A few years back I wrote a blog on a Four Rose Review which included the Chateau D’aqueria.  We decided to purchase a couple of 2014’s so we could see how they compared to the 2011.

2011 Chateau D’ aqueria
Sight – Pale color depth with a nice salmon hue.

Smell – The aromas were weak but fruity and I noted strawberry.

Taste – Slightly sweet but dry, with a medium finish.  It was light bodied with no distinctive tannins.  This Rose’ was flavorful and I could taste strawberry and peach.

abv: 14%

How much: Less than $15.00

I rated the 2011 Chateau D’ aqueria three glasses.

Smell
Aromatic young-fruity with strawberry notes.

Taste
Dry, light-bodied with balanced acidity.  Crisp, flavorful mid-palate flavors with a short finish.

abv: 14%

How much: $14.99

Region/Appellation:  France, Tavel

Wine composition:  Blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Clairette.

The 2014 Chateau D’ aqueria was rated the same as the 2011.  We have bought many bottles of this rose’ for our summer pleasure.  If you see this wine at your local bottle shop I would buy it.  The price is great and perfect on a hot summer day.

Life is too short to drink crappy wine.  Expand your palate and keep trying.
