We came across this winery by accident.  The tasting room is small and very warm.  We tried all of the wines and all four of us were very impressed with the quality of the wine.

We enjoyed the wines so much Chris joined the Black Label Series wine club.  Before we left Chris decided to purchase a couple of bottles to take home in anticipation of her club shipment in the spring.

The week had been pretty stressful for Chris.  For dinner, it was a roasted beet salad and surf and turf.  I wanted to make sure she had a wonderful glass of wine with the food.  I figured the 2012 Va Piano Les Collines Syrah would be young.  Chris really enjoyed it last December so that was what was for dinner…

Smell
Moderate young-fruity with aromas of earthy, inky, cocoa and dark fruit.

Taste
Dry, full-bodied with great acidity.  Medium and soft tannins.  Rich mid-palate flavors with a long lingering lovely finish.

How much: $65.00

Region/Appellation: Walla Walla Washington.

100% Syrah from the Les Collines Vineyard.

The Black Label Series entails three Syrahs and one Cabernet Sauvignon.  I look forward to trying all of them.  If you travel to Walla Walla wine country make sure you visit the Va Piano Vineyard tasting room.

I rated the 2012 Va Piano Les Collines Syrah four glasses.

Life is too short to drink crappy wine.  Expand your palate and keep trying.
