2012 Nichelini Family Winery Sauvignon Blanc

I tend to drink more whites and rose’ wines in the summer.  But of course reds are still my favorite.  When we are on the boat hanging out, I prefer the lighter fruity wines.  I tend to keep them cooler because they warm up faster in my glass on the boat.  I have to watch myself because I can suck down the cooled wine really fast.

Sight
Pale color depth and an amber hue.

Smell
The Sauvignon Blanc was aromatic with young-fruity development.  I could smell citrus, lemon, pear, grapefruit, pineapple.

Taste
The wine was dry, medium-bodied, and the acidity was lively.  Tasting the wine I had soft, silky mid-palate flavors with a soft finish.

abv:  13.8%

How much:  $17.00

Region/Appellation: Napa

The fruit is family-grown harvested from the Virginia block, named in honor of the 4th Nichelini child born in 1895.  The fruit is hand-harvested, slowly fermented and has not seen oak.

I rate the 2012 Nichelini Family Winery Sauvignon Blanc three glasses.

Life is too short to drink crappy wine!
