Our motor home has been for sale for about a year. Since the unit hadn’t sold, Chris and I decided to pull it from the RV dealer lot and enjoy it. It just made no sense having it sit while we’re still paying for it. We were recently feeling pretty good about an interested party from Hibbing, MN. It is roughly a 3 1/2 hour drive down and since they scheduled to come check it out, we figured they were pretty interested.
We had stayed at Dave’s and Heather’s house the previous weekend for a celebration they were hosting. When our sons Nick and Andrew heard that there were potential buyers, they wanted to stay in the rig one more time. We have had some good times over the years and I think the kids were a little sad “she” might be leaving us.
The folks came down from Hibbing on a Thursday afternoon. I was still in meetings so Chris greeted them before I was able to come outside. We could tell they were very interested and brought their two young boys. After and hour and half and a test drive, they were on their way and very interested. We felt pretty good the couple will be buying the unit.
It was a bit emotional, more for Chris I think but we were both happy that it might be sold and a bit sad because we hate to see that chapter of our life come to a close. I wanted to have a glass of wine with dinner so I wandered down to the cellar. I was looking for something that was going to pair with the food Chris was making. After a couple pulls I came across the 2009 Gamble Family Vineyards Cabernet Franc.
Sight
The Cabernet Franc had a dark ruby hue. The red wine was very clear and the color depth was deep.
Smell
The Cabernet Franc was not really aromatic. Even after swirling my glass, it was moderate but did smell young and fruity. I noted dark cherry and berries including plum. I also noticed cocoa and tobacco and overall it smelled pretty good!
Taste
To my surprise the Cabernet Franc was not very dry, and it was full-bodied. The acidity was lively with soft tannins. I could taste dark fruit and spice. It was soft and silky with a long finish felt in the back of my tongue.
I really enjoyed the 2009 Gamble Family Vineyards Cabernet Franc.
abv: 14.1% The lower alcohol was a pleasant surprise.

I rated the 2009 Gamble Family Vineyards Cabernet Franc three glasses. We had ordered twelve bottles when we joined the club last spring. I am looking forward to seeing how this wine matures over time. You can drink this one now or hold it for many years.
We are waiting to hear back from the potential RV buyers. Cross your fingers she sells to a family with kids.
