2006 Cosentino Winery The Poet

4g

Chris and I enjoy having our adult kids over for dinner.  Tonight Michelle was coming over without her boyfriend. We will enjoy the one on one conversations and Chris prepared an excellent meal.  We were having fresh salmon with the Dijon sweet glaze, Orzo, and Asparagus.

Smell
Aromatic young-fruity with aromas of sweet blueberry, bing cherry, red cassis, caramel.

Taste
Dry, medium to full-bodied with balanced acidity.  Medium but slight astringent tannins.  Rich velvety mid-palate flavors with a long lingering finish.

abv: 14.9%

How much: $75.00

Appellation/Region:  Napa Valley

Meritage blend: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot.

I rated the 2006 Cosentino Winery The Poet four glasses.  The food and wine paired excellently.  Mitch commented on Chris’ Recipes on Facebook after she posted the meal.  He quoted “make this next time you are in California and I will bring the wine!”  Sounds like a winning proposition for all involved.

Life is too short to drink crappy wine!  Expand your palate and keep trying.
